The Story
At Colonial Williamsburg, you can experience history. Walking through town there are re-enactments on the Palace Green and in the middle of the streets. Many different types of stores show you how things were made long ago. There is a wig shop. Its employees weave strands of animal and human hair. They explained how George Washington powdered his naturally red hair. There are furniture and clothing stores whose work supports the operations in town. If you feel chilly, warm up near the Blacksmith's fire. When you hear the drums, it's hard not to march with them. But after all that, you might get hungry. At the taverns, you can eat historically inspired foods like Onion Apple pie and feel like you're back in time. After a quick sermon from a minister, you might join some rebels. They've got a band and will make you feel ready to overthrow tyranny.
