Rickey's Excentric Sculptures

Tysons / Capital One Center, VA (representative point)

The Story

There are two George Rickey dynamic art installations outside of the Capital One Headquarters in Tysons, Virginia. This first one is called Two Open Rectangles Excentric V. It was created in 1976 and its made of steel.

The further one is Double L Excentric Gyratory III, also made of steel but in 1992.

Rickey's kinetic steel sculptures have subtle movements. These are both powered by the wind. He intentionally sought unpredictable patterns in his sculptures that combined engineering, geometric exploration and new forms of technology.
